We are pleased to recognize Ralph Wetherell, the COO and Broker-in-Charge at AgentOwned Realty, as CTAR’s 2025 Good Neighbor Award recipient. Ralph is the driving force behind God’s Goods Thrift Store of Mt. Pleasant, a volunteer-run nonprofit thrift store established in 2022 with a mission to turn secondhand goods into meaningful community support.
“God’s Goods was started in September of 2022, with a handful of passionate people and a lot of prayer, ” said Ralph. “Today, just over three years later, our all-volunteer staff totals almost 120 people, and we have funded back just over $725,000 to non-profits so they can continue their good works.”
Inspired by a similar ministry his parents volunteered with for years, Ralph envisioned a store in Mt. Pleasant that would unite local churches and community members in service. When securing a rental space proved difficult, Ralph personally stepped in—providing a year of rent upfront—to bring the vision to life.
The store’s impact grew quickly. Within just three months, it was able to disburse funds to local nonprofits. By late 2024, God’s Goods expanded into a larger space to meet rising demand. Today, more than 100 volunteers serve alongside Ralph. After covering rent and utilities, all proceeds are distributed by a committee representing seven local churches, ensuring the funds support nonprofits serving the Lowcountry—and, in some cases, regional and international missions.
Ralph’s leadership, compassion, and relentless dedication have not only built a successful organization but also fostered a vibrant community of volunteers, donors, and neighbors who believe in the power of giving back.
