Each year, we honor one residential, one commercial and one global Realtor® as Realtor® of the Year, who is nominated by their peers and colleagues. The residential Realtor® of the Year is announced during the annual Realtors® of Distinction luncheon, the commercial Realtor® of the Year is revealed during a Commercial Investment Division luncheon and the global Realtor® of the Year is revealed during a Global Business Chapter luncheon.
On the ten-year anniversary of opening her first business, Ashley Jackrel earned her CCIM designation. Since then, she has sold that business, transitioning this cumulative expertise to advise in commercial real estate services, with her specialties being Office and Investments. She has leveraged this acumen to achieve her clients’ goals, and also serves in leadership and volunteer roles.
Ashley has connected with the community through her service on the City of Charleston’s West Ashley Revitalization Commission and is a leader in her profession, serving congruently at the local, state and national levels.
Outside of the real estate industry, Ashley has served as reader with Reading Partners and a guest teacher at R.B. Stall High School in North Charleston as part of their entrepreneurship program. She helped to raise funds for the Warrior Home Project, a solution for student homelessness. She enjoys practicing yoga and taking part in leisurely meals with loved ones.
Kay Minson, Realtor®️ (CRS, RSPS, AHWD, CIPS, ABR), Carolina One Real Estate, Mt. Pleasant North Office, SC specializes in client-level residential real estate and celebrates 20 years as an active member of Charleston Trident Association of Realtors (CTAR) and a participant with its inaugural trade mission in 2019 to Panama.
As a charter member with CTAR’s Global Business Chapter, Ms. Minson has served with its Board of Directors in various capacities including President and recently served on the National Association of Realtors®️ Global Business and Alliances Committee and state-level as a SC Realtors®️ Board of Director member. She is a Global Affiliate member of The Canadian Real Estate Association.
In community, Kay presently serves on the Global Charleston Advisory Board and served as an Action Team member with the International Resident Support Committee of the Global Fluency Initiative of the Charleston Regional Development Alliance.
A member of Rotary International’s Historic Rotary Club of Charleston along with other memberships and family pursuits, Kay is culturally grounded and inspired by upbringing years in South Carolina and the Lowcountry. She earned a B.S. degree in Geology from the College of Charleston where she completed multiple study abroad programs and is the daughter of her beloved father Jack and mother Bobbie Sims, CTAR 2005 Realtor®️ of the Year award recipient.
Pete Harper is a Principal with Lee & Associates – Charleston and has been with the company since 2011, while practicing commercial real estate for over thirty years. Currently, he focuses on the acquisition, disposition and leasing of office, retail and land for third party owners and tenants. Mr. Harper was educated at the University of Vermont (Civil Engineering - 1988) and Vanderbilt University (MBA in Finance - 1995). Pete began his career in Boston working as a civil engineer on the “Big Dig” before moving into CRE by joining Trammell Crow Company in 1994 out of Nashville as a retail leasing agent. He moved to Atlanta in 1999 to work for a power center developer, leasing retail space and selling outparcels in newly developed centers around the southeast. In 2003, Pete moved to Charleston to work for a private real estate developer/investor as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer.
During his tenure, he was involved in acquisitions, dispositions, financing, leasing oversight, operations, and management of numerous master planned properties. He became a CCIM member in 2014 and has been awarded the CoStar Power Broker Award multiple times for office leasing in the Charleston market. He is a member of the Charleston Office Advisors team which, on average, completes over 100 sales and leasing transactions a year. Pete's education and experience interwoven with his market knowledge, financial modeling and analysis, contact negotiations, construction costing and understanding of the client’s needs, have provided him the ability to provide every client with sound real estate solutions.
